Neymar to stay in Brazil for International Duty
The Barcelona forward Neymar da Silva, after winning the gold medal at the Rio Olympics, will not rejoin the azulgrana team on Wednesday as planned, and will stay in Brazil to play two qualifying matches for the next World Cup with the national team.
Neymar has been called up for the qualifying matches that Brazil will play against Ecuador (September 1st) and Colombia (September 6th).
The Barça striker was supposed to return to the Catalan capital tomorrow and then go back to his country after playing the league match against Athletic Club in San Mamés on Sunday.
However, the coach of the Catalan team, Luis Enrique Martínez, has given him permission to stay in his country until the end of the next concentration with the national team and rejoin Barcelona's training on Thursday, September 8th.
His teammate in the Olympic team and at Barça, Rafinha Alcántara, has not been called up to play for the national team, so he will begin training under Luis Enrique on Wednesday.
