River Plate prepares for their sixth international final under Marcelo Gallardo
Buenos Aires.- River will play their sixth international final tomorrow at 9:15 pm since Marcelo Gallardo took over the club. In a press conference, the coach analyzed the match and couldn't help but look back and remember all his achievements with the Millonarios.
"We want to continue trying to make history in this prestigious club. It's a new international final that we are going to play and that has all of us very excited. The message is that we have to desire to win it and enjoy it because it doesn't happen often," analyzed the coach.
For this match against Independiente de Santa Fe from Bogotá tomorrow at the Monumental stadium, Gallardo confirmed the inclusion of the reinforcements Luciano Lollo and Marcelo Larrondo among those concentrated, both with chances of being on the bench or even starting. "We are concentrating 20 players and we want them to start feeling part of the group, then we will see if they are ready to go on the bench or not," he clarified.
When asked about how he sees the group, the coach highlighted: "We are doing very well, excited, there is good energy for the final. In our stadium, with our fans, we are going to play a good match and our goal is to win since it is one of the objectives for this year."
Pity doubtful
The bad news for the coach is the possible absence of Gonzalo Martínez, one of the players who has been a starter in all the matches of this pre-season. In his place, Rodrigo Mora could be called upon, who initially was going to be on the bench to accompany Lucas Alario upfront, which would mean that Sebastián Driussi would play a few meters further back. The other alternative is to give Larrondo a starting role directly.
"We are ready to play a great match, there are other players and we have the possibility to win a title and that generates a good feeling as a team," he concluded.
