Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are absent from the squad as Arsenal take on Bayer Leverkusen in their Emirates Cup friendly at Emirates Cup.

Calafiori had been touted to make his debut after his £42million arrival from Bologna. He had missed out on Arsenal's final pre-season friendly of their tour of the United States against Liverpool after arriving only days before.

However, he is once again absent for the clash with the Bundesliga champions at Emirates Stadium. Despite training with his teammates at London Colney, the Italian is still not up to speed with his teammates.

Timber, meanwhile, is also absent with a minor issue as he continues his return from an ACL injury sustained at the start of last season. It is not understood to be a serious problem for the Dutch international.

David Raya and William Saliba are straight back into the starting XI against Leverkusen after returning from their international efforts with Spain and France. England trio Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are also back, but remain on the bench.

Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are also both involved despite reports linking them a move away from north London. Youngsters Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Josh Nichols, Ayden Heaven and Tommy Setford are also among the substitutes.

Arsenal confirmed line up vs Bayer Leverkusen - Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Jorginho, Odegaard, Kai Havertz; Vieira, Jesus, Trossard..

Subs: Ramsdale, Setford, Heaven, Lewis-Skelly, Nichols, Partey, Rice, Nelson, Nwaneri, Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah.
