Mexican Beach Volleyball Team Eliminated from Rio Olympics

The Mexican beach volleyball duo, Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen, have ended their participation in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games after losing to the Netherlands in the round of 16. The final score was two sets to one (21-18 and 21-15) in favor of the Dutch team.

Lombardo and Virgen couldn't overcome the Dutch pair composed of Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst. The defeat was a result of their mistakes and poor service during the match.

With this loss, Mexico bids farewell to the tournament after achieving two victories against Italy and Tunisia, and one defeat to the United States in the group stage.
