Hernandez made his major league debut in 2023 appearing in four games before a forearm strain wiped out most of his season. He returned at the end of the season and impressed enough in postseason workouts that he landed on the Division Series roster.
Hernandez has pitched well at Gwinnett this season appearing in 12 games while posting a 1.65 ERA and a 3.58 FIP in 16 1⁄3 innings. He’s logged 22 strikeouts in those 16 1⁄3 innings, but has also issued nine walks.
Hernandez can go multiple innings if needed. Ray Kerr logged 3 1⁄3 innings out of the bullpen in Sunday’s loss after Bryce Elder was knocked out early.
