Guardians 10, Red Sox 7
Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way at the start:
The best record in baseball (12-5) belongs to….. the Cleveland Guardians.

Getting there was a lot more complicated.
Tanner Bibee pitched his best game of the young season, and the offense provided him with plenty of support. A 5-1 lead when your starting pitcher exits after 5 innings is great work by everybody involved.
But the 6th inning was a mess. After the Guardians did nothing in the top of it, Tyler Beede entered and gave up multiple runs in his third straight appearance. His ERA nearly doubled this time, going only a third of an inning and giving up 3 runs. Cade Smith then replaced him, and had his roughest game, too.
Red Sox 6, Guardians 5 after 6.
Eli Morgan then saved the day, pitching stellarly until the offense could tie the game in the 9th.
Then both teams scored a run in the 10th. The Guardians should have scored many more than 1; the Red Sox scored only because Manfred Do Free Runner Thing.
The 11th was excellent, though.
And then after those highlights, Scott Barlow struck out two Red Sock batters for his first save as a Guardian.
