The Cameroonian international midfielder Alexandre Song has terminated his contract with FC Barcelona to join Rubin Kazan, the Russian first division club announced on its official Twitter account on Monday.
The confirmation. "Alex Song is now officially a Rubin player, after signing his contract today (Monday)," tweeted Kazan, while Barcelona announced the departure of the Cameroonian in a statement on their website.
With the azulgranas. Song, 28, arrived at Barcelona in 2012, but spent the last two seasons on loan at English side West Ham. The defensive midfielder (49 caps) had a contract with the Catalan giants until 2017, but both parties reached an agreement to terminate the contract.
"FC Barcelona wishes the player good luck and success in his new professional stage," said Barcelona in a brief statement.
