Spring in Seattle is a gift: with blooming and brightening, a promise of our region’s best-kept secret (summer!), and a welcome relief from perpetual gray.
It is also, most notably, the start of the Mariners’ season.
Opening day for Major League Baseball is Thursday, with the team opening the 2024 season with a home series against the Boston Red Sox.
Here’s what to know about parking, food and what you can bring into the ballpark.
How do I get to the stadium?
For fans driving to T-Mobile Park, there are three parking garages to choose from: Mariners Garage, Lumen Field Garage and Union Station Garage South. There are also parking lots and garages in the neighborhoods surrounding the stadium (Central Business District, Chinatown International District and SODO).
Public transportation is an efficient way to get to the park. The Stadium and International District/Chinatown light rail stations are a 10-15 minute walk to the ballpark. Free parking is available at the Angle Lake, Tukwila International Boulevard and Northgate Link light rail stations, according to Sound Transit.
The ballpark is also accessible by ST Express buses and several Metro routes.
Sound trains also serve T-Mobile Park fans from as far as Everett and Lakewood.
For ride-sharing fans, the stadium encourages use of the taxi stand (at northwest corner of First Avenue South and South Royal Brougham Way), which, of course, also serves taxis.
Colman Dock, also called Pier 52, is less than a mile from T-Mobile Park, for fans hopping on and off a ferry.

Can I bring a bag inside?
There’s nothing like the pit in your stomach when you’re walking up to T-Mobile Park and realize you brought a regular-sized, non-clear bag. You either have to ditch your bag in a bush, or know the following rules about what bags are actually allowed beforehand.
Fans can bring in clear plastic or vinyl bags no larger than 12-by-6 inches by 12 inches are allowed. One-gallon clear plastic zip-top bags are also allowed.
Fans can bring in small clutch bags that are not clear plastic or vinyl as long as they’re no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches.
Security must be able to see inside the bag, plus identify items to the bottom of the bag (non-clear bags or pouches inside the bag cannot obscure contents)
Backpacks, multi-compartment bags, duffel bags and purses larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches are not allowed in the stadium. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items or single compartment diaper bags (child must be present).
Can I bring in food?

Sealed, clear plastic water bottles up to 32-ounce baby bottles, beverages related to medical needs and unopened, soft-sided single serve containers (like juice boxes) are also allowed.
Fans can also bring in one empty plastic reusable bottle 32 ounces or smaller.
Soda, coffee or other beverages are not allowed.

Can I exit T-Mobile Park and come back in?
