The long holiday for Fiestas Patrias is the perfect excuse to visit different places in Peru and live a thousand unique experiences. If you have decided to travel with your car, Grupo Primax and the major distributor of Shell Lubricants in Peru have provided the following recommendations to have no surprises on the road and make your vehicle perform at its best.

1. Plan your route. Planning is essential in order to design your strategic stops along the way, in case the routes are a bit long. It will allow you to prevent engine overheating, as well as to rest and avoid fatigue.

2. Pre-checkup. Do you have a trusted mechanic? Your car must undergo a pre-trip evaluation to ensure that the engine is in optimal conditions. Not doing this, could cause problems on the road and getting stranded is not a good way to spend a holiday.

3. Oil. This liquid allows the vehicle's parts to function properly and allows your engine to have adequate combustion. A low oil level will result in poor lubrication of your engine and significantly shorten its lifespan. For better care of your engine, use Shell Helix lubricants.

4. Oil leaks. On some occasions, the engine hoses develop cracks, leading to oil leaks. You can tell if you leave your vehicle parked somewhere and a small puddle forms underneath. This can be a symptom that the engine is already having problems or will have them in the future, so if not repaired promptly, your vehicle may have issues in its normal operation on the road.

5. Fuel Filter. A fuel filter is a sieve-like component in a vehicle that filters contaminants, such as small particles of dirt or other fuel residues, before they enter the engine. The fuel filter is an essential part to keep the engine running; over time, the fuel filter can fail or get clogged with debris, which can have severe effects on the performance of the car.
