Daniel Ahmed's discomfort was evident
The reduction in the number of games for Alianza Lima players did not sit well in Rímac. The Sporting Cristal coach criticized Gabriel Costa's clearance and demanded that everyone be treated equally.
"It's part of the informality that exists in Peruvian football. I have great respect for Costa, he's a great player. Four days before the classic, they make that decision. There's not much respect for the parties involved. Alberto Rodríguez was incorrectly sent off in the match against Malgar and we accepted the ruling. The issue is to be fair," said Daniel Ahmed in a press conference.
Additionally, Daniel Ahmed confirmed the absences of Diego Penny, Josepmir Ballón, and Carlos Lobatón in Sporting Cristal. He already has in mind who will replace them. Alexander Araujo, Horacio Calcaterra, and Diego Manicero will be the replacements.
"We have good players. We have worked with the absences of Diego Penny, Josepmir Ballón, and Carlos Lobatón. I have confidence in the performance of those who will play against Alianza Lima. It will be a difficult match, but we will seek victory," said the coach.
