The Preview. Brasil arrived at the match as the favorite, to the point that they only needed a draw to win the World Cup at home. Meanwhile, Uruguay arrived at this match after drawing 2-2 against Spain and after defeating Sweden 3-2.
The Match. The first half was completely controlled by Brasil and it seemed that the first goal would come at any moment, but it was only produced at the 47th minute by Friaca. However, Juan Alberto Schiaffino (66') managed to equalize and the victory came through Alcides Ghiggia in the 79th minute.
