The Milwaukee Bucks had a depleted frontcourt on Monday against the Utah Jazz. Damian Lillard was unable to play due to a personal matter, which, unfortunately, coincided with backup point guard Cameron Payne also being ruled out due to a concussion.
Payne headed into Thursday’s marquee showdown against the Boston Celtics with a probable tag, which meant that he had a good chance of suiting up after one missed game.
Milwaukee Bucks Clear Cameron Payne for Celtics Matchup
The Bucks have now announced Payne’s final injury status for Thursday’s game less than two hours prior to tip-off. The good news is that the 29-year-old has now been cleared to play, as confirmed by head coach Adrian Griffin (h/t Eric Nehm of The Athletic):

In 36 games played this season, Payne has averaged 6.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 triples in 15.4 minutes off the bench.
Damian Lillard Also Good to Go
Apart from Payne, the Bucks also get Damian Lillard back for Thursday’s clash. Dame also missed Monday’s loss against the Jazz due to a personal matter — one that appears he’s already settled in time for the Celtics game.
Lillard is not coming off an injury so he should get his usual dose of playing time on Thursday night. Payne will be his primary backup off the bench, thereby allowing the Bucks to utilize their usual backcourt rotation in what is going to be one of the most crucial games on their slate.
