San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has been around some all-time NBA talents, but even he has been caught off-guard by just how unique Victor Wembanyama is.
While describing Wemby’s astonishing breakout game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, Popovich was asked if he’d ever seen a performance like this in his career.
Rather than dance around the question with coachspeak, Popovich just flatly said no and talked about just how impressed he’s been with the rookie.
Popovich knows as well as anyone in the NBA how to properly size up a player’s talents, and this response just said so much about Wembanyama’s unbelievable game and overall talents.
“No.”

Popovich landing Wembanyama has to feel like a dream, as the Spurs have likely added another all-time talent to the franchise’s history if Wemby continues to live into the player we all know he can be.
The quick Popovich postgame press conference underscored just how proud of his team he was.
After his team put up arguably it's most impressive fight of the season tonight, #Spurs HC Gregg Popovich's postgame comments lasted less than one minute.

It’s Wemby Time in San Antonio, and Popovich seemed very thrilled about it.
