We have a handful of games for an appetizer before the 49ers face off against the Bucs this afternoon.
The Cowboys, who notoriously struggle on the road, travel to a Carolina Panthers team who initially had Frank Reich calling the plays. Reich gave play-calling duties up for a couple of games, only to take back over starting today.
We have Dorian Thompson-Robinson starting for the second time for the Cleveland Browns. But it’s Kenny Pickett against one of the most dominant defenses in recent memory. The Browns should win ugly.
Justin Fields is back for Chicago. The Bears will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions. Eight points is a lot in a divisional game, and Chicago has played better defensively as of late. The Bears should keep it close.
The Texans are on track to make the playoffs in DeMeco Ryans inaugural season as a head coach. They face Kyler Murray and the Cardinals today in what should be a high-scoring game between two electric quarterbacks.
Today should be a serving of humble pie for Antonio Pierce and the Raiders against a Miami Dolphins offense who should come close to scoring 40.
Sam Howell is expected to win by more than a touchdown. I’ll play those odds and blindly take whoever is on the other side. Yes, even a quarterback who wasn’t in the upper echelon of the Big 10.
Finally, the Packers and the Chargers face off. These two teams are radioactive and if you think you know what’s going to happen in that game then I would like to know the lottery numbers.
