Lourdes Carmona, customer service coordinator at Corpoelec, denied the possibility of imposing fines on those who do not register in the Borrón y Cuenta Nueva plan. "So far we have not received any instruction regarding fines, disconnection, or suspension if they do not register. Nothing related to that," Carmona said.
In addition, the official pointed out that the purpose of the new system is to update user information and improve the method for calculating their rates. Therefore, no customer will have to pay for affiliation, only for their energy bills for September and October.
How to register in Corpoelec's Borrón y Cuenta Nueva plan?
To benefit from the Borrón y Cuenta Nueva plan, it is necessary to be registered in Corpoelec. Once you have created your user on the server, you must follow this detailed step-by-step guide:
- Go to the official Corpoelec webpage and click on 'Registrarse' (Register).
- Then, fill out the form with the following information: names, last names, ID number, email, telephone number, address, municipality, and parish.
- Verify your account with a code sent to your email.
- Once inside the system, go to 'Asociar nueva cuenta contrato' (Associate new contract account) and click on 'Agregar cuenta contrato' (Add contract account).
- Fill out and attach the requested information (photos of the property title or lease agreement, old invoice, meter number, among others).
- Finally, validate the registered information with a new code sent to your email.
Corpoelec: How to check your balance?
To check your balance in Corpoelec and keep up with your payments, follow these steps:
- Go to the Corpoelec Virtual Office page.
- Select the state where you live.
- Click on 'Consulta tu saldo' (Check your balance).
- Enter the 12-digit NIC (contract number).
- Select 'Consultar' (Check) and you're done.
