In a very close duel, Diego Elías defeated Colombian Miguel Ángel Rodríguez by 11-4, 7-11, 11-5, and 11-4 in the discipline of Squash, on Wednesday, November 1st, in the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. Let's remember that in Toronto 2015, the Colombian won the final against Diego, however, in Lima 2019, Diego took revenge and won the gold. He is a two-time Pan American champion, like Gladys Tejeda, Natalia Cuglievan, and Alexandra Grande. Elías is currently ranked number 2 in the world and congratulated Rodríguez, who before Elías was the best South American in squash. He reached the 4th position in the world, and now he is ranked 13th.
