The women's volleyball team of the Dominican Republic achieves its third Pan American medal
With 13 points from Brayelin Martínez and 12 from Jineiry Martínez, the Dominican Republic added another gold medal by sweeping Brazil in three sets in the Pan American Games final.
The final scoreboard was 26-24, 25-16, and 25-19, with a match duration of just over 1 hour and 23 minutes, scoring a total of 76 points and 12 blocks on defense.
The end of the first set was thrilling as it seemed that the Dominicans were leading with 25 points, but a review resulted in a tie score with the Brazilians. In the end, the Reinas managed to get two consecutive points, not without another review requested by the Brazilians that kept everyone in Chile in suspense, and they won 26-24.
In contrast, the second set was relatively easy, with a double-digit advantage at times. However, as Brazil approached 20 points, they narrowed the gap to just six points. But once again, the Dominicans showed their best version and won the set 25-16.
The third set was much more competitive, with both teams tied at 10-10 at one point. However, the Dominican players ultimately dominated and won 25-19.
