Boxer Ronal Batista suffers TKO defeat against John "Scrappy" Ramírez
Inglewood, California - Panamanian boxer Ronal Batista suffered a tough TKO defeat against American boxer John "Scrappy" Ramírez at the Kia Forum in California.
During the first two rounds, both boxers were throwing punches to make their mark. However, in the third round, "Scrappy" applied pressure and put Batista in trouble.
In the fourth round, Ramírez increased the volume of punches and knocked Batista down with a left hook to the side of his body with over a minute remaining in the round. With 28 seconds left to finish the round, Ramírez connected with combinations that sent Ronal to the canvas again, prompting the referee to end the fight.
Ronal Batista's record now stands at 15-4, 9 KOs, while John "Scrappy" Ramírez remains undefeated with a record of 13-0, 9 KOs.
The event was organized by Golden Boy Promotions, owned by Oscar De La Hoya, and featured the headline fight between Alexis Rocha and Giovani Santillán.
