The former Swedish player who has just announced his retirement from football, told an Italian media outlet details about his transfer to Juventus in 2004.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave an extensive interview to the Italian media, La Gazzetta dello Sport, where he spoke about many topics such as his transfer to Juventus, which was handled by his agent, Mino Raiola.

As it is known, Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his retirement in early June of this year while playing for AC Milan. "I can't breathe, but it's okay, so many memories and emotions within this stadium. The first time I arrived, they gave me happiness; the second, love. I want to thank my family and loved ones for their patience," he said excitedly to the Rossoneri fans at San Siro after the victory against Hellas Verona.

Now, the Swedish striker, in the interview with the Italian media, recounted the unprecedented transfer to Juventus in 2004. "My career started with him (Mino Raiola). When I met him, I was arrogant and so was he. The first meeting was at a Japanese restaurant. I arrived well dressed, obviously not as well as today, I had a different budget. Mino ordered sushi for eight people, saying that he would take care of it," he revealed first.

Then he added, "He pulled out sheets with the appearance and goal statistics of Vieri, Inzaghi, and other forwards. I had played 20 games and scored five goals, and he asked 'where do I take you like this?' I replied: if I had another average, even my mother could sell me. He asked me 'do you want to be the richest or the strongest?' My ego made me answer 'stronger.' And he said 'good, then you will be richer,'" he recalled.

Finally, he said, "After three months, he brought me to Juve... That was it. A friend, advisor, family. We grew and became strong together. His last months were very tough. He tried not to talk about his illness, giving him strength, and he always thought about others. Until his last days, he only talked about his players. He told me 'do what makes you happy.' He was strong. He was very strong," he affirmed about his former agent who passed away on April 30, 2022.
