Eden Hazard announces retirement from professional soccer

Early in the day, the football world came to a standstill upon learning that Eden Hazard decided to hang up his boots at the age of 32. The Belgian striker published an emotional statement in which he officially announced his retirement from professional football.

"You must listen to yourself and say enough at the right moment. After 16 years and over 700 games played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer. I was able to realize my dream, I played and had fun on many fields around the world," said Eden Hazard.

Following that, he thanked everyone he met during his professional career, as well as the clubs he represented since his beginnings in the 'king's sport'. Of course, Real Madrid, who trusted in his abilities after having good campaigns with Chelsea.

"During my career, I had the fortune to meet great executives, coaches, and teammates. Thank you all for these great moments, I will miss you all. I also want to thank the clubs I have played for: LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid; and thank the RBFA for my Belgian national team selection," he added.
