GUATEMALA --- After a long trip from Israel, a country that has been at war since last Saturday, Guatemalan goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen arrived in the country and will join the training of the National Team of Guatemala at the High Performance Center starting this Monday, for the official matches that will be played against Trinidad and Tobago (October 13th) and Panama (October 17th) for the Concacaf Nations League.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper was unable to play the last match with the Bnei Sakhnin FC team of the Israeli Premier League due to the country's conflict, however, that did not prevent him from traveling to Guatemala and making himself available to the National Team of Guatemala, led by Luis Fernando Tena.

Upon his arrival at La Aurora International Airport, Nicholas Hagen gave statements to the press, referring to the away matches that they will have to play.

"We knew a month ago that we were going to have to play the final in these two matches. The group is complicated, we can only win and we have to fight for ourselves. It's the same as the Gold Cup, it all depends on us and what we do on the field. We will try to do things in the best way possible and we will try to win," said Nicholas Hagen.

"I trust the group, they have been characterized not just by 11 players, but by everyone who enters and makes a change and contributes something to the National Team of Guatemala. The people who will be able to play will put Guatemala's name up high. We come with the desire to do things right, to train, to socialize. In the end, we will seek victory, that's what we want, to make a good performance," added the Guatemalan goalkeeper.

Regarding the visit to Port of Spain, where Guatemala has not defeated Trinidad and Tobago, Nicholas Hagen referred to it. "Yes, it will be difficult, Trinidad and Tobago are also playing for a spot in the next phase, they are at home, they want to do well, but we will try to spoil that party and try to get into the top two places."

During Sunday night, Robin Betancourth from Venezuela and Nathaniel Méndez-Laing from England also arrived to join the National Team of Guatemala.

Guatemala will train on Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday, October 11th, they will travel to Trinidad and Tobago and then fly to Panama.
