University of Chile set sail for Colombia to compete in the 2023 Libertadores with a squad of 20 players and the desire to become champions.

On Thursday, October 5, at 5:00 pm, University of Chile will kick off the 2023 edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina. The Metropolitano de Techo stadium in Bogotá will serve as the venue for the first match of the tournament, valid for Group A, when they visit Universitario de Deportes.

Nicolás Bravo and his team have already set course for the capital of Colombia, earlier on Monday. A total of 20 players made it onto the final squad list, which retained the same names as those registered on September 8, when the Conmebol rosters were closed.

Natalia Cayupán is one of the two first-team players who did not make it onto the final squad list. She is joined by Fernanda Araya, who has just recovered from her injury that kept her out of the 2022 Copa Libertadores Femenina with Santiago Morning. Several young players were also left out, such as Florencia Acevedo and Emma González.

Franchesca Caniguán is the only debutante player in the University of Chile squad for the Libertadores. Young players like Ignacia Durán (2021 and 2022), Karen Fuentes (2021 and 2022), and Mariana Morales (2022) had already participated in a tournament of this caliber. In addition, Nicole Fajre and Gabriela Bórquez have already played in the tournament with Santiago Morning, while Yissel Aquino did it with Libertad Limpeño (2016).
