The UEFA Champions League 2023/24 will begin its group stage on September 19th, with the top 32 teams from Europe vying for the most prestigious club title in the world.
Marcos López, the only Peruvian to play in the top European tournament
The left-back Marcos López will be the only Peruvian player who will be waiting for the Champions League draw. His team, Feyenoord, was one of the seeded teams in the group stage draw after qualifying as the champion of the Netherlands.
He will face a demanding group but one that gives him possibilities. His rivals will be Atletico Madrid, Lazio, and Celtic in group E.
López had a decent performance last season in the national title, but in the current edition of the Eredivisie, he has not played a single minute in five matchdays. He has always been a substitute.
He did play in the Dutch Super Cup match that Feyenoord lost 1-0 to PSV Eindhoven.
His team will make its Champions League debut this Tuesday against Celtic at home.
