This did not go unnoticed by the sports press. In fact, a reporter mentioned it to Daniel Amador, marketing manager of University of Sports, prior to the final. However, the press woman made a small mistake when referring to 'La U', as she mistakenly used a nickname that popularly belongs to Alianza Lima.
"This (the attendance record) is achieved by University, 'The People's Team' as they say", said Nativa journalist Martha Rentería to the cream leader.

Why is Alianza Lima called 'The People's Team'?
Basically because of the roots of the institution, which was founded on February 15, 1901, by a group of teenagers from the working class in the old neighborhood of Chacaritas, Lima.
Two decades later, the Afro-Peruvian population and also the working class in areas such as La Victoria quickly identified with this football team, adopting the nickname 'The People's Team'.
