Almiron leads the list! The Paraguayan squad called up for the matches against Peru and Venezuela.

Prepare for the Challenge against the Peruvian National Team and Venezuela. This afternoon, Guillermo Barros Schelotto announced the final list of Paraguay's selected players for their first two challenges in the qualifying process for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. With Miguel Almirón as their leader, and with the confirmed absence of Julio Enciso (injured), the 'Mellizo' will seek to make a good debut against Juan Reynoso's team.

In that line, the coach of the Paraguayan team decided to call up 27 players, including Newcastle United player Fabián Balbuena, Gustavo Gómez, Junior Alonso, Omar Alderete, Jesús Medina, Ivan Píris, among other players who will be available for the match against the Peruvians.

It is worth mentioning that, for the match against the Peruvian National Team, Guillermo Barros Schelotto will not be able to count on Julio Enciso (Brighton from England), after confirming that the injury he suffered in the European team's training sessions will not allow him to be in his best physical shape for the start of the qualifiers.

Despite this, in Paraguay they are optimistic about the match against the Peruvian team, especially with the change of venue for the match (it will be played in Ciudad del Este and not in Asuncion, as usual) which promises new emotions for the representatives of both teams.

When does Peru play against Paraguay and Brazil?

According to the CONMEBOL schedule, the Peruvian National Team will face Paraguay and Brazil in the first round of the South American Qualifiers. Against the first opponent, the match will be played on September 7th at the Antonia Aranda stadium in Ciudad del Este. The match will start at 5:30 p.m. (Peruvian time) and tickets are already on sale.

As for Brazil, the match will be played in Lima on Tuesday, September 12th at 9:00 p.m. at the Nacional Stadium. Although other venues have been mentioned, such as the Monumental stadium, it is finally planned to be held at the Coloso de José Díaz. Season tickets and promotions are already available for this match.
