In the eye of the storm. Luis Rubiales, president of the Spanish Football Federation, denied that he is going to resign from his position after the enormous controversy caused by kissing football player Jenni Hermoso on the mouth during the award ceremony for winning the Women's World Cup.

During the General Assembly, Rubiales spoke and stated that he has no intention of resigning and that the kiss with the athlete was "spontaneous, mutual, euphoric, and consensual," and that he has "affectionate moments with the team."

"It was spontaneous, mutual, euphoric and consensual, which is the key to all the criticism. It was consensual. This player missed a penalty and I have a great relationship with all the players, we have been a family for more than a month and we had affectionate moments during this gathering," said the official during his participation.

But he recounted more details about the moment that generated controversy during the World Cup award ceremony, as he said that the football player lifted him off the ground: "And we almost fell and as she put me down, we hugged (...) she lifted me up in her arms and brought me close to her body and I said forget about the penalty and she replied you're a star and I said a little kiss? and she said okay. She said goodbye with a final pat on the side and left laughing. That is the whole sequence".

Finally, he said that there is no position of dominance in this case and he assured that it is not about seeking justice, but about executing a "social assassination."
