With a late goal from Lionel Messi, Inter Miami defeated New York Red Bulls 2-0 in the resumption of the American Major League Soccer (MLS) and dreams of qualifying for the playoffs.

The Argentine star made his debut in the League in a match played at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, where he entered in the 60th minute when Inter was already leading 1-0 with a goal from Diego Gómez at minute 37.

Messi settled the game with his goal at 89 minutes.

Spanish defender Jordi Alba acrobatically passed the ball to Messi inside the area, and the 'Pulga' passed it brilliantly to Benjamin Cremaschi on the right, who returned it first time for Messi to score with an open goal.

It was Messi's eleventh goal in nine games played with the Inter Miami jersey, a team he joined last month and has been undefeated since then.
