Edit the name of your contacts from WhatsApp
Generally, when it comes to the contact of a trusted friend or family member, we would like to personalize their name to something closer or that identifies our relationship with that person. Given that, more than one user thought that the only way to edit the contact's name was by exiting the application.
However, there is a simple trick for you to edit and personalize the name of your contact from WhatsApp itself. You will not need to leave the Meta app and go to your phone's contacts. You just have to follow these simple steps:
- Open WhatsApp on your Android or iPhone.
- Search for the chat with the contact whose name you want to change.
- Hold down their profile photo to open a menu.
- Then, tap the icon that has the letter "i" enclosed in a circle.
- Next, press the three dots you see on the top right.
- Choose the "Edit" option. You will see that a new window will open.
- Modify the name of your contact.
- Press "Save changes" and that's it.
