Speculations arose and the question was whether Dayro Moreno had any discomfort that led to his substitution. However, in a press conference, coach Sarmiento made it clear that it was a tactical decision because he wanted to improve the attack and couldn't do it with the goal scorer.
"It was not anything physical. It is a normal substitution because Mejía, who is strong, powerful, and stays closer to the two center backs, comes in. At any moment, we could have won with a play in speed," Pedro Sarmiento said.
He also added, "It is a different characteristic from Dayro because he can move to the sides. The decision is a substitution for another to find different characteristics."
