A solitary goal in the first half by defender Gil sealed the victory for the Paulista team. Before the match, the team and fans paid tribute to the seven supporters who died in a traffic accident on Sunday while returning from Belo Horizonte after the league match against Cruzeiro (1-1) in the Brazilian league.
