Sports Zone are reporting that Manchester United’s Raphaël Varane (30) is the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.
According to the publication, the former France international’s representatives have been contacted by Al Ittihad, who are showing great interest in the Frenchman. The club have already recruited two French players this summer with N’Golo Kanté and Karim Benzema making the move to the Gulf State. The duo are now reportedly trying to tempt Varane to make a similar move.
However, for now, Varane has declined the proposition. The former RC Lens and Real Madrid centre-back wants to continue competing in Europe for at least another season. Varane, who retired from international duty following the Qatar World Cup last season, is under contract with Manchester United until the summer of 2025. He started the Red Devils’ Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers and is still a regular in Erik Ten Hag’s side.
