Real Madrid started their pre-season tour in the United States on a high note: they achieved two victories against AC Milan (including a comeback) and Manchester United. However, against FC Barcelona and Juventus, they showed their worst side and conceded six goals (3-0 and 3-1, respectively). Carlo Ancelotti, coach of the 'White House', assessed the tour and stated that he is generally satisfied, although there are things to improve before the start of LaLiga (their debut against Athletic Club is on August 12).
After the defeat against the 'Vecchia Signora', the coach acknowledged that they need to be more efficient in the defensive zone, as they conceded many goals (eight in four matches). "In defense, it is true that we need to improve because we have conceded many goals. We have changed the system and it still costs us a bit, but we will work on it," he commented.
