SYLACAUGA, Ala. – The Sylacauga City Council held a meeting Tuesday night, Aug. 1, at 6:00 p.m. with a work session prior at 5:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the city council addressed three separate agenda items from previous meetings with administrative errors that needed correcting.
From the May 2, 2023 meeting, the council an error to reflect the correct date regarding Brenda Minnifield’s appointment to the Industrial Development Board for the vacant term of six years ending “April 2029,” previously adopted into minutes as “April 2023.”
Two errors from the May 16, 2023 council meeting were amended.
The first was to reflect the correct effective date for adopted Ordinance No. 2257-23 authorizing the tax increase as “August 1, 2023,” previously adopted as “September 1, 2023.”
The second was to reflect the correct effective date for adopted Resolution No. 23-2023 allocating sales tax proceeds also as “August 1, 2023,” previously adopted as “September 1, 2023.”
Approval was granted for the refund of an overpayment to Davis Industries in the amount of $118.
Lastly, the council approved the balance of June Accounts Payable invoices in the amount of $244,958.46.
The next meeting of the Sylacauga City Council is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 6:00 p.m.
