Since it was announced that Raw and SmackDown would once again have separate rosters, and that the latter would be live on Tuesdays starting July 19, the question has revolved around the brand split and where each wrestler would go.
Brian Fritz, from The Sporting News, recently interviewed Dolph Ziggler, who said interesting things about the brand split:
"I think it's great. That brand split is great for everyone. It will create more competition between the brands, and that can only lead to good things. We will have to throw more things against the wall to see what sticks.
"The most important part of this is that it's an opportunity for several Superstars and divas to go beyond and become much bigger and much more important for their brand than they were before. That's the part I like."
- Because this has been done before, is there anything you would like to be done differently this time?
- It's already different. There is a complete cast of NXT Superstars who are drooling over WWE Superstars. There is a fan base behind them. Once you make the split and establish the different brands, there will be two "A" shows going head-to-head, live, one day after the other, competing to be the best. That's a very cool part. That's the difference. It wasn't like before, when there may have been half the talent there is now. There are three complete rosters that will have to be divided into solid rosters, and that will be great for the fans no matter which side you are on.
