The meeting will take place on Wednesday 26 at 7:30 pm local time, at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. This decision was made due to problems that prevented the León team from leaving Vancouver on time, as they were stranded due to bad weather at the airport.
After drawing in the 90 minutes and winning on penalties against Vancouver Whitecaps, the Mexican team León had to travel to Los Angeles to face Galaxy. However, the charter flight that would transport the Liga MX team could not leave Vancouver due to technical difficulties.
In an official statement, Leagues Cup informed about the situation and explained that the preparation of Club León was significantly affected by this issue. The integrity of the players and the competition is the top priority for the Organizing Committee of Leagues Cup, and this decision was made to ensure adequate conditions for both teams.
The competition thanked Club León, players, members of the coaching staff, and delegation for their patience and LA Galaxy for understanding the circumstances surrounding the rescheduling of the game. It was also announced that fans who had tickets for the original match will be able to use them to attend the rescheduled match on Wednesday.
With this new date, football fans will be able to enjoy the exciting match between LA Galaxy and León in the Leagues Cup, hoping that both teams will offer a high-level spectacle at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
