Crawford Signs

The Owen Sound Attack announced the signing of 2nd round selection Jake Crawford

Crawford was selected 33rd overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the York Simcoe Express

Last year, Crawford scored 26 goals for York Simcoe

Crawford is the 2nd player to sign with the Attack from the 2023 Draft following 1st round pick Nico Addy.

from attackhockey.com

Owen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray is pleased to announce that the team has signed second round selection Jake Crawford to a Standard Player Agreement.

“The Attack are proud to announce the signing of Crawford,” DeGray said. “We would like to welcome Jake and his family to the organization and look forward to seeing his growth in Owen Sound.”

Crawford was selected 33rd overall by the Attack in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft out of the York Simcoe Express program. Crawford was a big part in a strong Express team, as he netted 26 goals and added 27 assists across 36 regular season game in his draft year.

“It still feels surreal,” Crawford stated. “First getting drafted by Owen Sound and now signing. It is an incredible feeling, I couldn’t be more proud to call myself an Owen Sound Attack. I can’t thank Dale and the rest of the Attack enough for giving me an opportunity.”

The 6’1″ forward also added a strong playoff performance with 14 points (7g, 7a) in 8 contests, as he helped the Express reach the OMHA Championship playdowns.

“I’ll bring a strong work ethic next season,” Crawford added. “You won’t see me take shifts off, as I aim to bring physicality and speed every time I’m on the ice.”

Haling from Barrie, ON the big winger will be joining a high profile Attack roster aiming to be a top team in the league for 23/24.

“Jake will fit in nicely as a solid two-way aggressive player who will be able to contribute in all areas of the rink,” DeGray said of his newest signing. “We all look forward to seeing Jake at camp in late August.”
