Mohamed Ali, considered the greatest boxer of all time, passed away at the age of 74 after suffering from a severe respiratory infection. Little was known about his final hours, however, there is a photograph taken of the idol two months before his death.
Physical deterioration. The snapshot appeared on the cover of the prestigious English newspaper The Sun and shows a significant physical wear on the former heavyweight champion. "Dignity in the final portrait" is the text that accompanies the publication.
The author. It was the British photographer Zenon Texeira who took the snapshot after arranging a meeting at Ali's home last March. This image was published in the edition of this Monday and has generated all kinds of comments on social networks.
The family warmth. Hana, the daughter of the former champion, was one of the people who was closest to the historic sportsman before his death. Through her Instagram account, she posted an emotional message as a way of saying goodbye to her father.
"Our hearts are literally broken. But we are very happy that daddy is free now. We all tried to stay strong and whispered in his ear: 'You can go now. We will be fine. We love you. Thank you. You can go back to God now'," Hana, Ali's daughter, posted.
