Tense atmosphere at Universitario: Fossati exploded at the press after being asked about the Avellino video [VIDEO].

The coach of Universitario de Deportes got furious with the press after being asked again about the video showing him making racist gestures towards the fans of Corinthians to his physical trainer, Sebastián Avellino.

Days at Universitario de Deportes have changed a lot in the last few days. Although it was tough to lose to Corinthians (1-0) in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana Playoffs, the team of Jorge Fossati received another -perhaps- even stronger blow, after the arrest of the physical trainer Sebastián Avellino in Brazil for racist gestures made in response to insults from the 'Timao' fans.

Upon arriving in the capital city, the Uruguayan strategist could not help but speak out about the issue, but also made it clear that -despite how difficult it may be- the group will have to concentrate on fulfilling a demanding and complicated schedule.

"We are aware, but now there is an agreement with the players that, in honor of our responsibility, we have to think about tomorrow's match (today, against Unión Comercio). Beyond being a professional, I am not at 100 percent, but at 110 percent for my colleague," said the coach to the press.

Immediately after the first response from the coach of Universitario de Deportes, a journalist decided to ask him again about the video that showed Sebastián Avellino's gestures towards the Corinthians fans, which enraged the Uruguayan strategist, who replied curtly: "Sir, I just spoke. If you don't like it, good night," he said before leaving.

The possible penalty that Avellino should serve

After the images spread on social media, which show Avellino's gestures, Wellington De Menezes Gomes –a criminal lawyer from São Paulo– detailed the possible sentence that the physical trainer of Universitario could receive. According to the lawyer, the 'U' PF must go through the entire process in Brazil, where he is currently detained.

"A process has been opened and if confirmed, he could receive a sentence of two to five years. He could be banned from attending any sporting events for the same period of time. The penalty can be reduced based on the defendant's record," said the legal specialist in an interview with RPP Noticias.
