The Chilean Government provides its citizens with different economic support, among which is the Winter Bonus. This subsidy is for people who receive the money to have extra income to cover some expenses and also cope with the increase in prices of basic necessities.

When is the Winter Bonus paid?

How much is the Winter Bonus worth?

This contribution is $60,000 Chilean pesos and is intended to help the elderly, especially those who receive a pension equal to or less than $201,677 pesos.

Who receives the Winter Bonus?

• Pensioners of the Social Security Institute, the Labor Security Institute, Pension Funds, and Employer Mutualities of Law No. 16,744, whose pensions are lower or equal to the minimum old age pension value according to Article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older at the time of benefit payment.
• Pensioners of the system established in Decree Law No. 3,500 of 1980, who are receiving minimum pensions with state guarantee, according to Title VII of said legal decree.
• Pensioners of the system established in the aforementioned decree law who are receiving a solidarity pension contribution, whose pensions are lower or equal to the minimum old age pension value according to Article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older at the time of benefit payment.
• Beneficiaries of the universal guaranteed pension, provided that they do not have the right to any other pension in any social security system.
• Pensioners of any social security system who, in addition, are receiving a universal guaranteed pension and whose pensions are lower or equal to the minimum old age pension value according to Article 26 of Law No. 15,386, for pensioners aged 75 or older at the time of benefit payment. How is the Winter Bonus paid?

The method of delivering the economic support is according to what the retiree chooses: deposit through a RUT account or personally going to the locations determined by the Government (the senior has a one-year period to do so).
