Mariano Soso explained why he signed Beto da Silva: "I know him from Sporting Cristal."

One of the things that the FBC Melgar fan asks the most is what criterion coach Mariano Soso used to approve Beto Da Silva's signing, so the Argentine strategist decided to delve into the subject.

First, the 42-year-old coach stated that one thing that prevailed is that he knows the national striker very well since he worked at Sporting Cristal, and also, that he was convinced of his abilities, despite not having had great continuity in recent years.

"Regarding the choice of Beto Da Silva, he is a player that I know from Sporting Cristal's youth teams, I had the opportunity to work with him in previous seasons and obviously it is the deep conviction that I have about the player regarding his abilities even knowing this history that responds to a lack of continuity and regularity in terms of minutes and games played," he said in a press conference.

However, Soso made it clear that Beto's arrival is taken as a real challenge, but he indicated that he is already having a good perception because he assured that he is working intensively in training. Moreover, he stressed that he is in optimal conditions and feels confident that he can contribute great things to the Arequipa team.

"It is our challenge that we are able to make Beto feel that good perception by the team and that he is working in a very committed way and with very intense tasks to achieve that footballing rhythm he has not had. As for the player's integrity, he is in great condition and the answers are good and expected. One hires a player with previous inquiries and by shortening that margin of error, we have the expectations that he can grow in our team and contribute significant things," he concluded.
