Huracán Ramírez returned to his origins.
The legend of professional wrestling was born on the big screen and not in the wrestling rings. In 1951, film producer Joselito Rodríguez made a movie called Huracán Ramírez, which told the story of Fernando Torres, a young man who decided to follow in his father's footsteps by adopting the secret identity of the wrestler.
Today, 72 years after the release of his first film, Huracán Ramírez reappeared on the big screen, this time in a short film called 'Huracán Ramírez vs La Piñata Enchilada', a film shot with an iPhone 14.
Since 1989, Huracán Ramírez had not appeared in a movie. The last one was 'Huracán Ramírez against the terrorists', which is why the wrestling idol said he was happy that the character was once again the protagonist in a short film, even though, unlike previous films, he now faces a monster.
"We've been working hard for years, my son and I have been playing this great character for 23 years, and we always looked for the opportunity to film. Today, this great opportunity presents itself to us. It's a great emotion, it's an honor and satisfaction for us, the owners of the name, and for the guys Michel and Kevin."
"Huracán Ramírez speaks about the short film 'Huracán Ramírez vs La Piñata Enchilada'."
"(Facing a Piñata Enchilada) It was part of the iPhone project. In the first movies he made, Huracán Ramírez didn't fight monsters, but there must be a change, and changes are for the better. It doesn't matter if it's a piñata, a werewolf, or a vampire. Huracán Ramírez is here."
The legend of professional wrestling acknowledged that filming with a phone was an incredible experience.
"It was a great astonishment. When I arrived to film, I thought they were traditional cinema cameras. But when you realize it's an iPhone, you think many things. But when you see the result, it's incredible. I would love for a million more films to come because the essence of professional wrestling has been captured again. This is a tribute to my colleagues."
