The technical director of Universidad de Chile, Mauricio Pellegrino
acknowledged in a press conference that it is difficult to add reinforcements for the second semester and warned that this situation depends only on a possible sale of Darío Osorio.
Asked about his opinion, he said: "I think that personal opinions are not as important as the sporting project in institutions. Here the most relevant thing is that it is a difficult time to sign players. The budget is above the coach's wishes."
"Manuel Mayo and I agree on almost all sporting aspects. We both depend on the budget of the club, which told us that it is difficult to add players if we don't sell Darío Osorio. The club has been going through difficult times and little by little it wants to stand up. We can't go from zero to 100," he concluded on the subject.
On the other hand, he avoided referring to the possibility of Matías Zaldivia leaving: "I can't control what will happen in the future. We don't know anything and it doesn't depend on us. I'm not going to worry about something that hasn't happened."
In another line, he referred to Jeisson Vargas' return: "He has had three training sessions with us, so it is difficult to make an assessment to know if we will consider him. No coach leaves out a player who is performing. Time will tell."
Advancing in the conversation, Pellegrino anticipated the match with Huachipato: "We have to focus on the match with a team that is, for me, one of the best in the league. We have to be focused on that. Obviously, we have tried to work in different ways, we have a clear idea of how we are going to do it, but it will be a complex match."
Finally, he had words for Leandro Fernández's situation: "Fortunately, he is training quite well. Today we sent him to do some tests and we are happy with how he is training. Tomorrow we will decide, it is likely that he will be with the team."
