Mexico secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Gold Cup by defeating Haiti 3-1 on Thursday at the Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, for matchday 2 of Group B.

The Mexican national team reached six points and solidified their position as the group leader with their second victory, while the Haitian team remained with three points in second place.

At the start of the second half, in the 46th minute, Martín finally scored the 1-0 for Mexico with a header inside the box. The own goal 2-0 courtesy of Haitian defender Ricardo Adé came in the 56th minute, in his attempt to deflect a low cross from the 'Tri'.

Haiti closed the gap to 2-1 on the scoreboard in the 78th minute with a powerful header from Danley Jean after a corner kick from the right. But Santiago Giménez (83) sealed the 3-1 victory for the Mexican team with a good finish.
