The Mexican athlete receives a scholarship from the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade), but it has been insufficient for this event, which is why her family obtained resources on their own.
In an interview with N+, Laura Garza, the mother of the young athlete, recognized that her daughter's achievements have been overshadowed by debts, but they will continue working to cover the remaining payments.
"We were given the opportunity to pay (the registration) in installments. We asked for an extension, they didn't give it, but now we have to keep working to pay," explained Mrs. Garza.
