No more controversy! The host of 'Saturday with Andrés', Andrés Hurtado, spoke out tonight about the criticism he received from national and international press for 'firing' his producer José Malpartida live on air.
The unique host of the show broadcasted by Panamericana TV was promoting a restaurant when he suddenly mentioned the attacks he suffered from some foreign media.
As he usually does, Hurtado downplayed the criticism and stated that he doesn't "care about what others say", since he has his own program and, above all, only the "audience knows the truth about what happened" with Malpartida.
"I laugh at the 500 media outlets that have an opinion, I don't care. I do this program that is mine and I owe it to the public. I have every right to complain live (...) I see Peruvian channels and it amuses me how they complain because they think I'm going to respond, I can't, I only do it with Telemundo", Andrés expressed in his own style.

On the other hand, José Malpartida spoke a few days ago about the episode he was involved in. In addition to recognizing his mistake, the man pointed out that the situation "got out of hand".
"I have known Andrés for over 10 years, we created the program together, we produce it every week, and we have a relationship and friendship beyond work. But this time it did get out of hand. That question was wrongly written because of my mistake. I saw it as an error", Malpartida pointed out.
