Renovation in sight. The artificial turf of the Lolo Fernández stadium will be completely replaced after ten years of use. The legendary venue, which hosted Universitario de Deportes matches between 1950 and 2000, will have new grass that meets FIFA's parameters.
The 'crema' club will invest a total of US$200,000 in this project that will benefit the women's football team, the youth divisions, and the institution's schools.
It is worth mentioning that the project will be self-financed with the income from the training schools that operate on the premises. In this way, the environment and performance of the students and athletes who attend the stadium will be improved.
Jean Ferrari, administrator of Universitario, visited the first day of work on the renovations at the venue.
"This is the beginning of great changes at Lolo Fernandez. Our greatness demands that we improve every day, and that's why we work with a vision towards the future. We plan to carry out major projects here, such as the multipurpose sports arena for volleyball, futsal, and futsal Down," said the club's administrator.
