The Peruvian Football Federation confirmed the disciplinary process it opened against Alianza Lima and three other clubs from Liga 1, stating that they are acting within the law.

Alliance Lima, Melgar, Cienciano, and Binacional face disciplinary action from the Peruvian Football Federation

The Disciplinary Committee of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) opened proceedings against Alianza Lima, Melgar, Cienciano, and Binacional on Friday, June 2, for not respecting the regulations of the League 1 regarding television rights. In this regard, the entity issued a statement to explain the reason for this measure.

The sports organization chaired by Agustín Lozano indicates that according to article 77 of the current Statute of the FPF, they are the owners of the television rights of League 1. However, Alianza and the other three teams mentioned above continue to deny the ownership of the Federation.

For this reason, "the Disciplinary Committee of the FPF has determined to initiate disciplinary proceedings against these clubs, who have been notified of this decision," the statement reads.

"The FPF reiterates that it will continue to act within the framework of legality and ensuring compliance with the current Statute, in accordance with the provisions of the tournament regulations," it is added in the statement.

Alliance Lima and company have two business days to present their defenses

In the notification issued by the Disciplinary Committee, it is specified that starting from Friday, June 2, both Alianza Lima, Melgar, Cienciano, and Binacional have two business days to present their defenses regarding this process.

What does the FPF demand?

The Federation demands that "the subscription of the sworn statement and other binding documents regarding the television rights of League 1 be complied with in order to receive the benefits of the current transmission model."
