Reynoso explained the reason for not calling André Carrillo.

Juan Reynoso announced the list of called players for the upcoming friendlies against South Korea and Japan, respectively, in the Asian continent. The Peruvian National Team will play on June 16 and 20, prior to the start of the 2026 Qualifiers, in September. In the list of players, the absence of André Carrillo stands out, one of the regular starters in the national team, who has had constant participation in the last processes. However, the coach clarified that it's due to a personal matter.

"Unlike many players in the list, André has played three tournaments this year: Copa del Rey, Copa de Arabia, and the domestic league. In that sum of matches, with what it implies physically and emotionally, he has been given less vacation time. If he comes, it's most likely that he won't have any vacations," the coach said, thinking about the physical and emotional part of the player, for the last six months of the year.

After finishing the season in Arabia with Al Hilal (fourth place in the tournament), preseason will begin this month. For this reason, the coach decided to give 'La Culebra' some rest and revealed that he will call him up for September, at the start of the Qualifiers.

"After the game, on the 20th or 21st, he will train with his team. Considering the pros and cons, if we take him, he won't have any vacations. It's better to have him ready for September. He has had a lot of workload, with long trips. It's better to take a break and enjoy with his family," he added.

Furthermore, Reynoso also referred to the absence of Renato Tapia and assured that it's due to a family issue: "It's probable that Renato plays this weekend (with Celta de Vigo, in Spain). His non-call-up is due to a family request and I prioritize it. We have agreed that he will be with his family and, for September, he will be trying to give his best," he concluded on the matter.
