The Coruña club wants to sign Michu, whose contract with Swansea ends in 2016.

The Depor plays a friendly against Swansea on August 1st, but it may not be the only contact with the Welsh club this summer as the technical secretary has set his sights on Michu. The forward, 29 years old, is not part of the plans of the Premier League team, with whom he ends his contract in June 2016. These circumstances will facilitate his departure, although at the moment there has only been a first contact.

It also plays in favor of the white-and-blue team the almost two blank years that the Asturian has and his desire to recover protagonism. In the 13-14 season with Swansea, he only played 17 league games due to injuries. Last season was even worse for him. Michu was loaned to Napoli, but only played six games, in November he had ankle surgery and in October he left the Italian club.

The only problem would be his salary, extremely high for Deportivo's options. The club's solution would be a long contract to compensate, as has been done with Arribas.

Another point in favor of Michu, and something that Víctor values a lot, is his versatility. The Oviedo-born player is left-footed and moves perfectly as an attacking midfielder, playmaker, second striker, and even as a 'number nine'.

Michu trained in the lower categories of Oviedo, with whom he achieved promotion to Segunda B. He spent four seasons with Celta, all of them in Segunda, playing 103 games and scoring 15 goals. In 2011, he signed for Rayo Vallecano, newly promoted to La Liga, and exploded as a goal scorer (15 goals). In just one year, he jumped to the Premier League by signing for Swansea for 2.5 million. In the 12-13 season, he had his best period. He scored 18 goals in his debut in the Premier League and even made his debut with Spain in an official match against Belarus (2-1).
