This Monday, the Ordinary Session of Clubs of the Liga MX was held, welcoming Juan Carlos Rodríguez Bas, who joins the Mexican football structure as the president-elect of the Mexican Football Federation.
Rodríguez Bas will be in charge of managing the creation of the Executive Commission of Mexican Football, which will be the governing body that will coordinate the efforts of the FMF and the Liga MX for the transformation of our football. After that, and once he takes the position of Commissioner, he will be responsible for appointing the next President of the FMF for the next World Cup cycle.
During the Assembly, Juan Carlos Rodríguez thanked Yon de Luisa for his work as President of the Mexican Football Federation during the last 4 years.
While leading the Federation, Yon de Luisa managed to maintain stability and certainty during the most challenging time in the recent history of our football (the pandemic). In addition, in sports matters, he achieved Mexico's second Olympic medal during the Tokyo 2020 Games.
De Luisa will maintain his position within the FIFA and CONCACAF Councils as the representative of our football for the 2026 World Cup.
Who is Juan Carlos Rodríguez?
Juan Carlos Rodríguez was the creator of sports programs such as Estadio Deportivo, which led him to become the president of Univisión Deportes.
During his tenure at TUDN, 'La Bomba' managed to bring the NFL back to Mexico, as well as bring boxing back to the screens of the television station of Chapultepec and in 2018, Juan Carlos Rodríguez became the president of Global Sports Business of TUDN.
